Does clearing the cache actually help with IPTV apps?

I've seen it recommended quite a lot whenever someone has buffering or app problems.

Is it something worth doing regularly or only when there's an issue?

I'd only bother when there's a problem rather than constantly doing it.

If an app is becoming slow, crashing or behaving strangely, clearing its cache can be worth trying before going down the route of reinstalling it.
