EPG problems — anyone else experienced this? ?

One of the more annoying IPTV problems is having the channels working perfectly but the EPG showing no programme information.
Some common things to check are:

• Is the EPG URL correct?
  
• Does the playlist have the correct channel IDs?
  
• Does the EPG actually contain data for those channels?
  
• Is the player's timezone configured correctly?
  
• Has the EPG been refreshed recently?
  
• Are the channel IDs matching?
